The report has a unique combination of the best practices and a feedback system assisting educators and individuals to track lack of quote and self-citation at the text, compare text and source side by side, identifying authorship of the analyzed text, add and display comments as well as configure self-citation in a very convenient mode. SmartMarks algorithm

StrikePlagiarism.com has introduced a new SmartMarks feature. This functionality allows you to carry out linguistic analysis of documents, find similarities if words have been changed to synonyms, swapped, spelling of a word has been changed, etc. This function is very much in demand in order to teach students to correctly paraphrase texts, as well as to replenish the evidence base when finding plagiarism in scientific papers.

Cooperation with NAQA

In February 2020 Ali Tahmazov, executive director of Plagiat.pl conducted a series of trainings and seminars on plagiarism procedures, methodology of evaluation, development or processes of plagiarism prevention among the professors of Almaty universities such as Turan, KIMEP and Satbayev university.

Cooperation with ENAI in Central Asia

On January 16, 2020, a webinar was held with a presentation by Dr. Thomas Foltynek of the University of Mendel, Brno, Czech Republic, and Dr. Irene Glendinning, Coventry University, UK. This presentation is about the situation with academic integrity (a project called PAICKT) in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Armenia. The project is supported by the European Council. Doc Thomas Foltynek is the president of ENAI (European Network on Academic Integrity). The report shows what the situation is in the universities of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Armenia with academic plagiarism, responsibility for plagiarism, how the student community and faculty understand the concept of academic honesty, what activities are carried out in these countries. This report will be of interest to teachers, university leaders, students, as well as journalists and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science and educational institutions. Trainings by GDPR expert of Plagiat.pl

StrikePlagiarism.com joined a seminar on Academic integrity in Polish university - Grand séminaire d'Ołtarzew. Mr. Krzysztof Gutowski, an GDPR expert of Plagiat.pl was presenting legislative changes in Poland and EU, giving practical cases on GDPR and how academic integrity has developed in Poland within last few years. The visitors were professors from Ukraine.

Trainings for educators in Ukraine

Maksim Maevsky, Roksolyana Ostapiv, Ali Tahmazov  talked about legislation related to plagiarism, popular ways of system cheating and methodology of evaluation. The changes in an education law describe precisely the terminology of academic dishonesty and responsibility for academic staff and authors. However, many universities doesn't follow the law due to the lack of procedures and reputational risks. Ukrainian universities did huge changes and efforts within few last years in increasing academic integrity. Ukrainian academia wants fast changes.

Academic integrity conference in Bulgaria, organized by SU and Plagiat.pl

StrikePlagiarism.com and Sofia University conducted next training session on academic integrity, plagiarism verification procedures, prevention of plagiarism, use of Moodle etc for its academic staff, heads of the deaneries and library. The training took 2 days and more than 100 people.

StrikePlagiarism.com has joined a the 5th international conference Plagiarism Across Europe and Beyond organized by ENAI (European Network of Academic Integrity) that took place in Vilnius, Lithuania as sponsor, supporting this event 4th year. This is a great event for our team to grasp valuable knowledge and disseminate it via our network of universities. Such events make cooperation between companies providing technical solution and HEIs stronger and we more understand the needs of each other and expectations.

Conference organized by StrikePlagiarism.com on academic integrity in Central Asia

Plagiat.pl organized international round table in Kazakhstan. At Rixos Khadisha Shymkent Hotel was held an international round table “Academic honesty – the core problem and consequences of plagiarism in scientific publications” which was organized by Plagiat.pl and Shymkent University. Plagiat.pl’s representative Ali Takhmazov – Executive Director of Plagiat.pl expressed significant changes in increasing of academic integrity in Central Asia.

Cooperation with Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine

StrikePlagiarism.com will be available to all universities in Ukraine on a free of charge basis. The memorandum signed in between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Plagiat.pl in Kyiv. According to this agreement, HEIs of Ukraine get discount access to the StrikePlagiarism.com that will allow to verify all Doctoral and Ph.D. dissertations as well as improve procedures.

StrikePlagiarism.com was a sponsor of ENAI academic integrity conference in Brno (Czechia)

StrikePlagiarism.com on the 3rd International Conference „Plagiarism across Europe and Beyond”. Keynote speech made by Ali Tahmazov and Cristina Costiniuc – Role of politics in academic plagiarism – was embracing political influence in post soviet region. The workshop was focused on experience in integration of Antiplagiarism System on the National level. The conference was organized by the Mendel University in Brno (Czech Republic), in collaboration with the European Network for Academic Integrity and the Council of Europe.

Academic activities in Georgia

Georgian universities are starting to use StrikePlagiarism.com system. More and more universities join network of StrikePlagiarism.com in Georgia and Azerbaijan. A StrikePlagiarism.com team had also meetings with representatives of Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Azerbaijan. The discussions focused on topics related to the problems with verification of Ph.D. dissertations, unified procedures and regulations. Ministries of Education and Sciences of both countries expressed their interest in our technologies and willingness to move forward.
